Gail (Weinberg) Levy, age 81, passed peacefully with her family by her side on January 29, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Phillip R. Levy, and her parents, Sol and Libby Weinberg.

Gail is survived by her younger brother David Weinberg (Beverly); daughters Laura Levin (Gary), Susan Levy, and Judy Zagorin (Mark).  Also, her grandchildren Emily, Deborah Levin, Eliezer, Yehoshua, and Shmuel Zagorin; nephew Scott Weinberg (Hunter); niece Lindsey Rossen (David); and many other family members. 

For many years she taught elementary special education at JCPS.  After her retirement, Gail volunteered at Norton Elementary.  She was a member of the National Council of Jewish Women-Louisville Section, Hadassah, and Keneseth Israel Sisterhood.  She was also a founding member of the KI preschool. 

Graveside services are at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Keneseth Israel Cemetery, 719 Locust Lane.  Masks are required.  To view the service virtually, visit www.facebook.com/hermanmeyerson.  Memorial contributions may be made to Keneseth Israel Congregation, 2531 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, KY 40205.

Shivah will be observed in-person and on Zoom at Keneseth Israel from Tuesday evening, February 1st, through Monday morning, February 7th as follows: weekdays at 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  In person visitors, please wear masks and be vaccinated.
