Idah Cohen Michelson, 105

Formerly of Louisville, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Mt. Washington Care Center in Cincinnati, at the age of 105. She was born in Denver, CO, November 15, 1912 to the late Joseph and Frieda Reginsky Cohen. Idah, in her early 20’s, worked as a bookkeeper for a Jewish business in New York City. After marrying Herman in Louisville, she worked along beside him in their drug store. Idah loved square and round dancing with Herman, loved playing Mahjong and was a member of Congregation Anshei Sfard. Most importantly, Idah was dedicated to her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herman Michelson; her son, Kenneth J. Michelson; two brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her loving children, Sandra Michelson Smith, Arlene J. Michelson Cohen and H. Alan (Jordan) Michelson; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3rd at Herman Meyer & Son, Inc., 1338 Ellison Avenue with burial to follow in Agudath Achim Cemetery, 2737 Preston Highway. Visitation will begin 1:00 p.m. Thursday. Expressions of sympathy may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or Congregation Anshei Sfard.
