Selma Ruby Kaplin, 80, died August 7, 2021, in her Louisville home.
Selma was the daughter of Jacob and Sylvia Ruby and was born on July 4, 1941, in Central City, KY. She enjoyed playing bridge, baking with her sisters, and spending time with family and friends. Her home was always open to others. She treated her children’s friends as if they were her own. Celebrating her extended family, she loved visiting and traveling to be with her eight grandkids and two great-grandkids. Recently, she and her husband Lawrence, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
Her memberships included Congregation Adath Jeshurun, The Sisterhood, and Hadassah.
Selma is survived by her husband, Lawrence; her children Jeffrey (Lynn), Susan Kusnitz (Jonathan), and Howard (Lisa); grandchildren Tamara, Justin, Ryan, Jack, and Benjamin Kaplin, Sarah and Samuel Kusnitz and Rebekah (Lucas) Palmer; her great-grandsons, Virgil and Ulysses and her sisters, Ann Leah Blieden and Shirley Geer (Bert).
Graveside services are at 1 p.m., Monday, August 9, 2021, at Adath Jeshurun Cemetery. Service will be live-streamed via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HermanMeyerSon/
