Stephen Jay (Stevie Jay, Pop, Pop-Pop, Steve-o) Goldstein of Louisville, Kentucky died peacefully in his home on Sunday, August 15th, 2021.
Steve was born and raised in Louisville with his younger brother, Ronald Goldstein, preceded in death by Loretta and Irvin Goldstein.
He attended both Waggoner and Seneca High Schools, was a student of life, but also almost every higher education institute in the state of Kentucky, and had retired as the owner of Goldstein and Associates in 2017. He was well known in the legal community, both locally and nationally, and a member of the Jewish Community Center, where he spent every afternoon swimming laps and playing racquetball. Steve’s affinity for live music, food, and bourbon made him well known in the bar and restaurant scene, and he loved to travel to California; Portland, Oregon; Florida; and Myrtle Beach. He was a fan of Kentucky basketball—but did not like the one and dones—and also enjoyed horse racing, classical, jazz, and blues music, and had a roster of loyal and devoted friends.
He leaves behind his daughters, Kathryn Goldstein, Melissa Goldstein, and Allison Goldstein—all born to his ex-wife and friend, Jenny Nall (Goldstein)— four grandchildren, Kevyn Heckler, Faye Houck, Scarlett Brown, and Atticus Brown, and the many friends whole loved him so.
Visitors are welcome from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18th, at Herman Meyer & Son, Inc., 1338 Ellison Ave. Masks are encouraged.
